Appropriate Second Life Use

I am consistently beating the drum of appropriate use of virtual worlds for educational experiences. I am vigilant about not using virtual worlds, specifically Second Life, to simply recreate the lecture hall and in so negate all the progress in pedagogy made over the last ten years of technologically-mediated learning.

This ant simulation is a wonderful demonstration of a brief and effective learning experience using Second Life and machinima:
