We just finished working with Chang Liu, a faculty member in the Russ College of Engineering and a very talented computer science student named Tessa Cooper to create a nutritional wellness game for delivery in Second Life. The object of the game as a player is to work through a day's worth of food choices at typical fast food joints and stay within your individual caloric budget. Along with trying to stay within an individualized caloric budget, a player also receives other health related information and tips given the choices that they make in the game. In the end, the game summarizes how a day's choices will affect long-term health if carried out over a longer period of time. Feel free to try the game out if you are in Second Life.
The game is open to the public and can be played on the Ohio University Sim at 188, 175, 27
